As the Executive Director, Ms. Rashida Islam is responsible for a full range of activities that ensure the operational effectiveness and overall performance of CCIFB including CCIFB membership development, maintaining communication channels between all stakeholders.
Ms. Islam spearheads sector-based reports and research initiatives that explore business growth opportunities and greater efficiency of existing organizational functions that support and aid bilateral trade between Bangladesh and France. These findings are further used to strategically plan and execute trade promotional events, provide assistance to new enterprises, and support inbound French governmental delegations.
With more than twenty years of experience in executive management, Ms. Islam has received several awards and specializes in achieving operational cogency through strategic planning and creative problem-solving.
After co-founding Onneyshan, a Bangladesh based NGO aimed at alleviating poverty and illiteracy, in 1996. Ms. Islam began her career in USA in 2002 with renowned organization as the operations manager. After that in 2006 she started her career as a longstanding executive with in the Banking industry. Ms. Islam served as the Branch Manager for a Tier 1(volume wise, $175 Million) Branch in Arlington, Virginia, where she was responsible for developing and implementing innovative programs, products and services, managing the daily client experience and supervise the branch. During her tenure, Ms. Islam got awarded for increasing investment and loan sales and for leading the team in exceeding aggressive retail sales while leading region-wide projects that improved performance.
Ms. Islam intends to utilize her existing expertise in operations management, client management, communications, business development and project coordination from her banking career in the United States as Executive Director and strategically design sustainable organizational growth plans that are effectively implemented by working closely with the CCIFB team, Board, elected officials and partnering organizations from both the private and state sector.
In addition to a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Computer Information Systems(Honorable “Summa Cum Laude”, GPA 3.9) from Strayer University in Arlington, Virginia, USA. Ms. Islam also holds a Master’s degree in Geography from Dhaka University and has completed a two Years course from I.C.M.A(Institute of Cost & Management Accounting) in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
Mr. Faisal Hafiz the Deputy Executive Director partners with the Executive Director. He holds an MA in English Language and Literature from the University of Chittagong. He attains DELF A2 from Alliance Française de Dhaka. Currently he’s enrolled in Alliance Française de Dhaka for his higher studies in French Language & culture. To him Culture has always been a mean of accessing the world. It’s the final phase of globalization. Indeed, engaging in political, social and commercial action through culture remains a noteworthy French tradition.
He started his professional career in 2012 as an Executive officer at Corporate Business in Robi Axiata Ltd. After that in 2015, he joined in Alliant, an International Event and Exhibition Management farm as International Event Manager. He has started working with CCIFB since May 2017 as the Deputy Executive Director.
As the Deputy Executive Director he is responsible to ensure that CCIFB maintains a strong customer service focus and is responsive to members’ needs. He organizes regular events for the members; oversees the development of the CCIFB Business Magazine and Newsletter, provides for effective functioning of the CCIFB website, ensures effective communication with media representatives, including arranging for media coverage of CCIFB events as desired. He ensures effective and cost-efficient implementation of CCIFB projects and serves as an intermediary between member companies and foreign businesses.
He is responsible for supporting the Executive Director to provide effective communication and represents CCIFB on behalf of its members with the French government, international and diplomatic community in other countries, wider business community, CCIFB network worldwide, etc. He develops an annual CCIFB Public Relations/Communications strategy and oversees its implementation. He is responsible to develop a CCIFB advocacy agenda based on consultation with members and external parties.
He represents CCIFB on various working groups and committees and focuses in recruiting new members. He reports to the Board of Directors on a regular basis and implements other tasks, as assigned by the Board of Directors.
He also has to serve as Acting Executive Director when needed.
After completing his Bachelor’s degree in BSC from the University of Rajshahi, Mr. Mohsin Ali briefly worked for a French buying house. He joined the France Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce & Industry since its inception in 1995.
As an administrative officer, he is arranging meetings, organizing all kinds of logistics during the various events of the Chamber such as catering, room renting, hotel bookings, and contacts with other suppliers etc. Along with his day to day office tasks he is also maintaining the daily account. He is the contact person for basic information of any kinds of queries related to the CCIFB. He maintains close relationship with all its members. He is the back bone of the Chamber.
