The France Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry organized The French Annual Gala on Saturday Dec the 9th, 2017 at The Westin Dhaka.
The Gala evening, comprised with spellbinding cultural performances from both France and Bangladesh followed by sumptuous dinner with French and Bangladeshi menu including the chic ambience of the evening. It was well appreciated by the honorable business community and the invited honorable guests.
The Gala evening was attended by Mr. François PETIT, Economic and Commercial Counselor, Embassy of France Dhaka, Mr. Jean-Pierre Poncet, Premier Counselor, Embassy of France Dhaka, Mr. Kazi M. Aminul Islam, Executive Chairman (BIDA), Mrs. Dilara Begum, Commercial Counselor in Paris, Mr. Bruno Plasse, Director, Alliance Francaise de Dhaka and the president of the chamber, M. Maksud, among other dignitaries of the business communities.
In his speech, Mr. François PETIT said, “Bangladesh as a country has tremendous potential. France is one of its close partners as evidenced by the volume and the trend of the bilateral trade which ranked France as the fourth largest export market for Bangladesh.
The bilateral trade has increased a lot over the past 10 years which has presently reached 1.5 billion euro. Export of Bangladesh to France has risen three times in the past 10 years and import from France also went up to about 100 million euro.
The Gala evening was ended with the “Thanking Speech” by the Executive Director of the Chamber, Ms. Rashida Islam.
